FOH & BROADCAST MIX | MATRIX COMMS | AUDIO SYSTEMS | RF | A2
I got my start in the late 90s setting up DJ sound systems in Northern California. Within a few years I was providing sound reinforcement for all night warehouse dance events with a business partner under the name Fsound. We quickly became a go-to source for ‘racks & stacks’ in the SF Bay Area, keeping a busy calendar most weekends for nearly a decade.
During this time I started doing corporate sound for a national company, and by 2005 began working with IATSE Local 16 in San Francisco. As a regional hub for innovation, I was fortunate enough to work many big tech product launches and press releases under industry veterans Lisa Woodward, Kevin Mckereghan, and Rich Halvorson to name a few. In short time I knew this is what I wanted to do and where I wanted to be. In 2010 I became a Journeyman with Local 16, and continued to expand my client list in the region and beyond.
The Quiet Signs You’ve Outgrown Your Console (Mixes, Inputs, and Intent)
Modern shows quietly demand more than most consoles were originally built to handle. More mixes. More matrices. More playback paths. More routing decisions. If you’ve ever found yourself counting buses before rehearsal starts, you already know — at some point it stops being about features and starts being about architecture.
